"Unsolved" is the third studio album from "hidden scars", the instrumental electronic project by Luca Fucci.
It's a new intimate journey divided into two parts and movement: "ascent" and "descent", sometimes close each other, sometimes distant. Black and White, Lights and Shadows, Contrasts are the leading actors in "unsolved". The 12 tracks are part of a staircase where, as in an Escher drawing, the steps that descend become steps that go up, without the listener perceiving the passage.

"When We Met" introduces the listener to the journey with a refined and sophisticated electronics and weaves plots of melancholic hopes above which the piano and 6-strings bass voices climb towards the light, as in "Suspended Animation "where the harrowing melodies penetrate the heart to remain suspended in “The Lightkeeper”.
At the end of the ascent, once reached the top, all you can do is begin the descent, the second half of the journey.
The acoustic instruments give way to the electronic sound of "Repetition Compulsion" which seems to show a way out, at times glacial, whose only solution seems to be the claustrophobic and disturbed surrender of "Comfortable in Pain".
At times violent, made up of modular synthesizers and analog drum machines, this descent leads to “Knot”: the knot to be solved that anticipates the end of “When You Left”.
The doubt remains unsolved: after the descent can a new ascent, a new journey and a new cycle take place?

"Unsolved" è il terzo lavoro in studio di "hidden scars", il progetto elettronico del musicista fiorentino Luca Fucci: un nuovo viaggio sonoro ed intimistico diviso in due movimenti di Ascesa e Discesa, che in un moto continuo si alternano, si avvicinano e si allontanano, in bilico tra Luce e Buio, tra Bianco e Nero: elementi e contrasti che accompagnano tutto l’artwork del disco, curato con stile dallo stesso Luca Fucci (come per i precedenti lvaori).

I 12 brani che compongono l’album sono parte di una scala dove, come in un disegno di Escher, i gradini che scendono diventano gradini che salgono senza che se ne colga percettivamente il passaggio.

Nella prima parte del disco, “When We Met” introduce l’ascoltatore al viaggio con una raffinata e sofisticata elettronica e tesse trame di malinconiche speranze sopra le quali le voci di pianoforte e basso a 6 corde si arrampicano verso la luce, come in “Suspended Animation” dove le melodie strazianti penetrano il cuore per rimanere sospese in “The Lightkeeper”.
Al termine dell’Ascesa, raggiunta la cima, però non si può far altro che cominciare la Discesa, la seconda metà del viaggio. Gli strumenti acustici lasciano il posto all’elettricità del suono di “Repetition Compulsion” che sembra mostrare una via di uscita, a tratti glaciale, la cui unica soluzione sembra essere la resa claustrofobica e disturbata di “Comfortable in Pain”. A tratti violenta, fatta di sintetizzatori modulari e drum machines analogiche, questa discesa porta fino a “Knot”, il nodo da sciogliere che anticipa la fine di “When You Left”.
Il dubbio rimane irrisolto: dopo la discesa può esserci una nuova salita, l’inizio di un nuovo viaggio e di un nuovo ciclo?
